Liz's French Toast (French Toast Casserole)
This french toast is browned and crispy on the outside and has a creamy, custard flavor on the inside. The fresh fruit completely ties it together!
Ingredients
French Toast
- 5 Eggs
- ½ tsp Cinnamon
- ½ cup Milk
- ¼ tsp Salt
- ½ Loaf of bread
Toppings
- Fresh fruit
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Beat 5 eggs in a large bowl. Add milk, cinnamon and salt and mix together until fully combined.
- Lightly grease baking dish.
- Tear bread into small pieces and layer into dish. *The pieces don't have to be all uniform.
- Pour egg custard on top of bread. Use tongs or a fork to toss the bread around to make sure that each piece is completely coated
- Bake in an oven at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
- Top with fresh fruit, powdered sugar and drizzle maple syrup on top!
